Hi, beautiful! My name is Elena Markwood and I am the lead wedding planner and owner of Adoration Weddings & Events. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, I now call Columbus, Ohio home (thanks in no small part to the Columbus boy I married). While I may never fully embrace Midwest winters, this city and the couples I serve here have truly captured my heart.
When I’m not bringing love stories to life, you’ll find me singing on the worship team, curled up with a rom-com and a cup of tea, or exploring the city and walking through our favorite neighborhoods with my husband, Wes, and our handsome, silly pup, Ollie.
With experience spanning more than fifty events across my years as both a venue coordinator and entrepreneur, I’ve learned that a truly beautiful wedding is about more than logistics — it’s about care, calm, and creating a day that feels unmistakably you. Every celebration I plan is guided by that belief, and it’s my greatest joy to make my couples feel seen, supported, and completely at ease from our first conversation to the final sendoff.

Giraffes are my favorite animal, and I have approximately 11 in different places around my home (but good luck finding them all!)
I am a sucker for anything rose scented/flavored - my go-to perfume is Rosie by Rosie Jane, my favorite coffee shop drink is Global Gallery’s rose oat milk matcha, and my signature cocktail at our wedding was a rose mojito
I get very excited for seasonal product lines
My dad was born in Costa Rica and I believe it’s the most beautiful place on earth (and my husband now always requests gallo pinto for his birthday… iykyk)
I grew up in a family that loves sushi and I’m pretty sure a good sushi dinner with good conversation is my love language
